TD Coin Counter

I’m not usually a fan of how most banks do things but this probably the greatest idea from a bank ever: free coin counters at branches.

I dropped off coins I’d been collecting since roughly 2004 and ended up leaving with an extra $167 in my account. It’s amazing that I had around 1800 pennies saved up.

Thanks TD Canada Trust.

  1. For a full year, in 2000, I took all of the change in my wallet at the end of the day and stuck it in a jar, regardless of coin value. We opened the jar for the Holidays, we ended up with over $700. πŸ™‚

    1. Nice! That’s basically been my strategy as well; although, my number would be much higher if I used cash more often πŸ™‚

      1. That’s why I haven’t done it in years. I tried it again and ended up with less than $50 at the end of the year, directly related to the increased use of my bank card at the time. That and I have kids now, so any hope of me having any change left in my wallet at the end of the day is down to nil. πŸ˜‰
